The short version: this website sets no cookies and runs no analytics or advertising trackers. We only collect what you choose to send us, and we only use it to reply to you.

Who we are

Black Reef Ltd (“Black Reef”, “we”) is a software studio based in Mauritius. We are the controller of the personal data described here, under the Mauritius Data Protection Act 2017. You can reach us about anything in this policy at contact@teamblackreef.com.

What we collect

• Enquiries. When you use the contact form or email us, we receive your name, email address, and anything you choose to include: company name, the service you need, a budget range and your message.
• Technical logs. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs, such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested, to keep the site running and secure. The contact form uses your IP address only briefly to limit repeated submissions; it is not stored with your enquiry.

We do not collect special categories of personal data and we do not buy data about you.

Why we use it

We use your enquiry to reply to you and, if you ask, to prepare a proposal. The legal basis is your consent, which you give when you send the form, and the steps you ask us to take before entering into a contract. We never sell your data or use it for advertising, and we will not add you to a mailing list.

Who else sees it

Enquiries are delivered to our inbox by an email delivery provider, and the site is served by a hosting provider. These processors handle data only on our instructions and may store it outside Mauritius. Where they do, we rely on safeguards that the Data Protection Act 2017 allows, such as contractual commitments.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiries for up to 24 months after our last contact so we can follow up on a conversation. If you become a client, project correspondence is kept for as long as the law requires for business records. You can ask us to delete your enquiry sooner.

Your rights

Under the Data Protection Act 2017 you can ask us to:

• give you a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• correct data that is wrong or incomplete
• delete your data
• stop or restrict using your data, or withdraw your consent at any time

Email contact@teamblackreef.com and we will respond within one month. If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the Data Protection Office of Mauritius.

Cookies

This website does not set cookies. If that ever changes, we will update this policy and ask for your consent first where the law requires it.

Changes

If we change how we handle personal data, we will update this page and the date at the top.
